Track a DHL shipment from China
Enter the DHL waybill number from your shipping notice. We open DHL's own tracking page and 17TRACK, and explain below what each status means for a shipment from China.
Tracking opens on 17TRACK, which covers DHL, UPS, FedEx and 1,000+ carriers. For XINTING waybill numbers, message your coordinator for a live status.
What the number looks like
DHL Express waybill numbers have 10 digits. DHL's parcel and eCommerce services use other formats, such as numbers starting with JJD; 17TRACK recognises those too.
Example: 1234567890
Where to find it
On the shipping notice your coordinator sends and on the DHL waybill label attached to the parcel.
What the statuses mean
| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| Shipment picked up | DHL has collected the parcel in China. |
| Processed / Departed facility | The parcel is moving through DHL's hubs, often via Hong Kong or Leipzig, towards the destination country. |
| Customs status updated | The parcel is in import clearance. If customs needs documents or duties, DHL contacts the receiver; tell us if you need help with the paperwork. |
| With delivery courier | The parcel is out for delivery. |
| Delivered | DHL has delivered the parcel; the details show who signed. |

FAQ
Is DHL Express the right choice for my shipment?
It suits samples, documents and parcels up to about 21 kg that need to arrive fast. Express divides volume by 5,000, so for larger or bulky shipments air freight is usually cheaper; send us the weight and size and we'll compare both.
Why does my DHL parcel show a customs status?
Every international parcel goes through import clearance. Most clear without action; if customs asks for an invoice, a product description or duty payment, DHL contacts the receiver. A clear commercial invoice with the HS code helps avoid delays.
