Track a UPS shipment from China
Enter the UPS number from your shipping notice. We open UPS's own tracking page and 17TRACK, and explain below what each status means for a shipment from China.
Tracking opens on 17TRACK, which covers DHL, UPS, FedEx and 1,000+ carriers. For XINTING waybill numbers, message your coordinator for a live status.
What the number looks like
Most UPS package tracking numbers start with 1Z and have 18 letters and digits in total. Spaces and dashes don't matter.
Example: 1Z999AA10123456784
Where to find it
On the shipping notice or delivery details your coordinator sends, on the UPS label on each carton, and in the Amazon shipment details for FBA deliveries.
What the statuses mean
| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| Label Created | The label exists, but UPS hasn't scanned the parcel yet. On air freight and rail, this is normal until the cargo clears customs at destination and is handed to UPS. |
| On the Way / In Transit | UPS has the parcel and it is moving through its network towards the delivery address. |
| Out for Delivery | The parcel is on a UPS vehicle for delivery today. |
| Delivered | UPS has delivered the parcel; the details show where and, often, who signed. |
| Exception | Something needs attention: an address problem, a missed delivery or a customs query. Send us the number and we'll follow it up. |
On our routes
UPS delivers the last mile on several of our lines: air freight to the USA (UPS or FedEx), air freight to Europe (DPD or UPS), the duties-paid China–Europe rail line, and UPS express from Hong Kong for samples and parcels.
FAQ
Why does my UPS number show no movement?
On air freight and rail, UPS only takes over after the main leg and customs clearance at destination, so the number can sit at Label Created for days while the cargo is in the air or on the train. Your coordinator can tell you where the shipment is until UPS scans it.
Can I track several UPS cartons at once?
Yes. Each carton has its own UPS number; paste them one at a time here, or several at once on 17TRACK, which accepts a list.
