New China–Europe freight train: Greater Bay Area → Istanbul
The first train (X9024) left the Greater Bay Area for Istanbul on 6 September 2025 — about 20 days, up to 15 days faster than sea.
On 6 September 2025, the first China–Europe freight train (X9024) departed the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area bound for Istanbul, Türkiye.
The service carried 50 containers of household appliances, garments, footwear and other goods on a multimodal rail–sea–rail route: out through the Khorgos port, across Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Georgia, and over the Caspian and Black Seas — about 10,000 km in roughly 20 days.
